THE OPPORTUNITY
With heavy traffic at the dock doors throughout the day for loading and unloading, an energy saving solution was needed to help lower energy bills and improve employee comfort.
THE SOLUTION
Northern Dock Systems installed 5 Air Barriers to help create a seal against outside weather insects and heating/cooling loss while the doors were open. While the docks are positioned against the trailer bed, the Air Barriers now help to block the 3-foot gap around the dock levelers.
With the success of the five units already installed, Unico is now looking to install another two units shortly. This will help ensure a seal is made at all 7 of their warehouse doors.
