Northern Dock Systems provided an energy-efficient, heat loss prevention solution to Border Bound, a professional logistics solutions provider that left their loading dock doors open for a substantial amount of time.

Border Bound employees had three primary concerns when their doors were left open causing chilly, outside air to mix with warmer, indoor air:

• Uncomfortable temperatures indoors causing a loss in worker productivity.
• Snow build-up around the loading dock area.
• Unnecessary heat loss.

After installing four Durashield Air Barriers through the Air Barrier Direct Install Program and creating up to a 90% seal around their loading dock doors, Border Bound prevented snow from entering their facility, allowed heat to remain in their building, enhanced employee comfort and increased worker productivity around the loading dock area.
