Project Overview
A warehouse in Whitby was experiencing problems with insects entering through their large sectional door when it was opened to let in fresh air during summer. To solve this issue, they contacted Northern Dock Systems who installed a large Bug Screen Door.
This door is suitable for openings up to 16′ x 16′ and can be mounted in front of an existing exterior door. It effectively stops birds, pests, and insects from entering the warehouse through the oversized openings, while still allowing fresh air in for ventilation and comfort during the summer.
The bug screen door is constructed using 14-gauge steel framing with durable vinyl-coated polyester screening that is weather, UV, and rot-resistant. In addition, the screen door is fire retardant with high tear and tensile strength. While the wind ribs (horizontal or vertical), wind load stabilizers, and safeguard rollers prevent blowouts.
Additionally, the steel frame nylon brush gaskets provide an optimal seal. Furthermore, the steel with a chain-weighted bottom bar ensures maximum protection from pests. Finally, it features a breakaway bottom bar that can easily be reset in case the door is accidentally hit.
Thanks to this new installation, the Whitby warehouse can now open up their doors during the summer to let in a fresh breeze without fear of letting in bugs. This has created a comfortable work environment for everyone there..
