Project Overview

As part of their expansion, Cardinal Meat Specialists Limited in Brampton needed two new loading dock positions and doors on the south side of their building. To help ensure processes and safety were followed, they used an interlocking sequence of operation to ensure the vehicles were restrained before the dock could be operated.

New Loading Dock Positions

They contacted Northern Dock Systems for the construction and installation of:

• (2) Blue Giant hydraulic dock levelers into new 6-sided dock pit 74’x87”x19” depth for an easy and safe operation.
• (2) Blue Giant electric hook vehicle restraints HVR303 with 4” cantilever bracket to prevent trailer creep during loading and unloading for safe operation.
• (2) Blue Genius Gold III control panels with integrated controls for the dock levelers and vehicle restraints along with LED communication lights for forklift drivers.
• (2) SDI C175 manual overhead door with vertical lift 7’8” by 8’.
• (2) 101 stationary dock seals into concrete wall 7’6” by 8’ to seal around trailers with 4” wear pleats for three layers of fabric protection and yellow guide strips to make it easier for trucks to align themselves when backing up.
• (2) sets of steel face dock bumpers to protect their new equipment from backing up trucks.
• (2) Light communications packages with a mirror image driver warning sign along with red and green LED traffic lights.

With their new equipment, Cardinal Meat is set up for safe and productive operation in their new addition.
