Project Overview
Rusted and Rotten Dock
The existing dock leveler at Concord Food Centre in Oak Ridges was old and the frame was deteriorating. As a result, the deck was rotting and lifting from the frame. Additionally, the hydraulic system was starting to fail more often leading to costly repairs.
Replacing the Curb Angles
They contacted Northern Dock Systems to remove and replace their old dock with a new hydraulic dock leveler. Before the new dock could be installed, the rust and rotten curb angles needed to be replaced and rewelded to the wall to provide better support.
Rust and Rotten Dock Leveler
Hydraulic Dock Leveler
The new hydraulic dock leveler also includes a NEMA4X / IP65 rated push button operator, which is resistant to both corrosion and wet conditions. So it is safe for both the food and pharmaceutical industries.
Furthermore, these hydraulic docks come standard with a rust-resistant powder coat. Meaning that this food facility can trust the dock’s reliability of it not rusting out again for years to come.
In addition, the inverted hydraulic cylinder requires less maintenance. As the design prevents dust and debris from clogging up the cylinders and is continually self-bleeding.
