Project Overview
One of our technicians recently performed a preventive maintenance inspection at Custan Foods Group in Hamilton Ontario. During this visit, our technician inspected the overhead doors and docks at four different positions to get this food facility audit-ready.
Throughout the dock and door preventive maintenance inspection our technician:
- Inspects wearable parts such as cable, hinges and rollers for wear and tear.
- Tests and adjusts spring tension.
- Lubricates springs and other moving parts.
- Tops up fluids for hydraulic dock levelers.
- Cleans up dock pit of debris to prevent potential equipment failures.
- Inspects welds and other structural components for safety issues.
- Checks for white light and any gaps that rodents could enter through.
In addition to the usual tune-ups, the PMP technician needed to reweld the central bracket for the spring pack on one of the overhead doors to prevent future issues.
This was detailed in our PMP Inspection Report that was sent to Custan Foods. Moreover, this report contains details of the condition of each piece of equipment and notes damaged and missing weather seals where rodents could potentially enter. NDS worked with Custan Foods to make a plan to seal up gaps with weather seal to get them food audit-ready.
