HingeMaster Dock Shelter Eliminates White Light and Water Leaks
Maintain a clean, energy-efficient environment by sealing the hinge gaps in your facility.
Durable side frames easily absorb impact from a misaligned trailer preventing damage to the frame and are built to last.
Top and side curtains are made from high-tear vinyl, and include fiberglass supports which complete the seal and maintain continual pressure against the trailer at the loading dock.
Stopping the Hinge Gap with J-Hooks
When barn-style trailer doors are open, the hinge gap around the sides creates the spatial equivalent of a 2 ½ foot square opening in the building wall. The HingeMaster J-hooks seal off this negative space, preventing debris entry and loss of conditioned air.
Interchangeable J-Hooks are low profile and provide a top to bottom seal without limiting access to the trailer interior, eliminating the hinge gap on barn style trailer doors.
Creating zero daylight in the building interior, ensuring conditioned air does not escape, and exterior temperature does not infiltrate – an ideal solution for climate-controlled and food facilities.
Easy Maintenance
The replaceable foam bottom pads are made for easy maintenance and secure sealing.
Two 22 oz. Hi-Tear vinyl vertical foam side pads with removable curtains for ease of maintenance.
HingeMaster Extreme
The HingeMaster Extreme includes the Rain Shroud built-in. It’s a fully integrated galvanized head frame diverts rain water away from the loading dock area, ensuring a safe work environment.
Foam wiper blade design forms a tight seal against the top of the trailer, maintaining constant contact during loading and unloading.
Dramatically Enhance Indoor Safety with a HingeMaster Dock Shelter
HingeMaster dock shelter dramatically enhances indoor safety by creating the tightest seal around trailers to:
Prevent insects: Including flies, mosquitoes, spiders and other creepy crawlies.
Inhibit pests: Including mice, birds and other living creatures from entering indoors.
Keep harsh weather outside: Limit extreme heat or cold drafts and maintain comfortable indoor temperature.
Eliminate white light: Completely eradicate white light infiltration with a proper dock seal to ensure safety compliance.
Block moisture: Create a strong environmental separation between outdoor and indoor temperatures to prevent moisture build-up. |
The Benefits of a Proper Dock Shelter
A proper dock shelter yields numerous benefits, including:
- Energy loss prevention and increased energy savings.
- Security and protection against stolen goods or unauthorized entry.
- Quick return on investment.
- Creating a safer working environment for workers in the loading dock area.
- Maintaining or increasing operational efficiency through indoor comfort.
Check for Air Leaks or White Light
An inefficient dock shelter might not be the only cause of issues you are possibly facing—the performance of a dock seal/shelter directly relates to other products as well.
Check your loading dock in four key areas to determine if your dock seal or dock shelter needs to be replaced.
- Top of the trailer: Are your floors forming puddles or ice when it rains/snows? Seal the gap between the trailer top and your dock door to prevent slip and fall hazards.
- Side of the trailer: Are you noticing white light infiltration? If so, you need to modify or replace your dock seal or dock shelter.
- Dock leveler and trailer gap: Damaged goods or injuries to personnel are the biggest indicators of an uneven level between the trailer and the dock floor. Prevent injuries and damaged goods with a proper dock leveler.
- Corners of the door: Don’t forget to seal the corners of your doors, which are common areas where insects, dust and other contaminants enter the facility.
Note: Remember that performance dock bumpers and bumper projection also affect the efficiency and longevity of any dock seal or dock shelter.
