Project Overview
Quick Response Times
The Policaro BMW automotive dealership in Brampton called our 24/7 emergency service team because they were unable to open their overhead door. As a result, our dispatch team arranged a technician to visit their auto dealership before lunch.
Root Cause Discovery
When the technician arrived he checked in with the site contact to confirm which door needed repair and an inspection.
In his door inspection, he discovered that both cables were off the door because one of the bottom brackets had snapped in half.
First-Time Fix
Our service technician, quickly got to work installing new bottom brackets and bottom rollers. Once those were installed, he reinstalled the cables to get the drive-through door operational again.
Safety First
After completing those repairs and noticing the debris around door, he spoke with the site contact again. Due to this, he informed our technician that the the door had come down on a parked car.
Our technician knew that his job was not done. He inspected the feather edge on the door to see if there was any damage from it coming down on the car. As a result, he found a small hole in the feather edge.
Next, he removed and replaced the damaged feather edge. Finally he tested all safeties to make sure that the door is functioning properly before closing out this emergency repair service call.
