Project Overview
No Loading Dock for Tractor-Trailers
Coveted Cakes had just moved to a new location in Woodbridge. However, this location had no loading dock. The previous tenant had used a yard ramp on site, but this would not work for loading and unloading their regular tractor-trailers.
New Pit Construction
They contacted Northern Dock Systems to create a proper loading dock so that way they could safely and efficiently load their tractor-trailers. First, our team created a dock pit for the new dock leveler at the existing position. They had to cut, drill and dig out the dock pit.
Single Push Button Operation
Once the pit was created, our team was able to install a new Blue Giant Hydraulic Dock Leveler with a pour-in pan for easy installation. This hydraulic dock leveler is easy to use with just a single push button operation.
Steel Face Dock Bumper
The new loading dock was protected with Steel Face Dock Bumpers to shield it and the building from damage from backing up trailers. The bumper’s steel face is designed to “glide” as the trailer moves up and down during loading and unloading. As a result, they are durable even under high use to minimize wear and tear.
Safety with Wheel Chocks
Finally, to keep everyone safe, we installed a Rubber Wheel Chock. Wheel chocks prevent trailer creep and accidental pull-out during loading. The pyramid wheel chock is constructed from durable rubber material and provides an economical solution for securing trailers.
New Loading Dock
Coveted Cakes can now easily and safely receive tractor-trailers at their new location with the new loading dock complete with steel face dock bumpers and wheel chock.
