Project Overview

The existing edge-of-dock leveler at this Richmond Hill warehouse was mechanical. As a result, the dock lip was hard for employees to lift. In addition, the current dock bumpers were damaged, leaving the dock exposed to potential damage itself. 

Inca Distributors reached out to Northern Dock Systems to upgrade their existing dock with an easier-to-use Blue Giant hydraulic edge-of-dock leveler. Their new dock deploys smoothly and easily at the touch of a button. A remotely mounted NEMA4-rated (IP65) control station activates the deck and lip, readying the dock for use without any pulling or adjusting.

Next, our installation technicians made sure that new dock bumpers were installed and made level to protect the new edge-of-dock leveler from damage from backing up trucks. 

Finally, our installation team made sure to complete the removal of the old dock and installation of the new dock in a single day since this was the warehouse’s only dock position. Our technicians and electricians worked efficiently to get their new edge-of-dock leveler back up and running as quickly as possible.
