Northern Dock Systems recommended a local industrial manufacturer replace their 40 year-old Multi-Blade Door with a custom Door Engineering Four-Fold Door.The cutting-edge custom Four-Fold door was selected as the perfect high-speed door solution for the following reasons:
- Low long-term cost of ownership by reducing preventive maintenance and service calls over time, compared to a traditional overhead door.
- Horizontal movement provides full visibility during opening and closing operations to avoid accidental impact from heavy industry equipment.
- Manual operation in the event of a power outage.
- Door Engineering’s tested the Four-Fold door to perform over one million continuous cycles for ultimate reliability.
The new Four-Fold door occupies the full 35’x20’ opening and opens in less than 10 seconds. The door includes glazing in each panel, custom colour factory finish paint and corporate logo. Each door panel is 4/5” thick and the door is powered by dual electro-mechanical operators. The door operation is interfaced with building automation, as are all safety systems, including full-height safety edge and LZR30 Laser Proxy Sensors.
The industrial manufacturer now has a reliable door solution to increase operational efficiency while lowering long-term maintenance costs at their facility.
