Project Overview
10 Year Old Rolling Steel Doors
The Lafarge Pipe manufacturing plant in Calgary was concerned with their 10-year old rolling steel doors. These rolling steel doors had severe wear and tear from the harsh environment. As a result, this Calgary manufacturing plant had to constantly deal with costly and extensive repairs, which affected their production and safety. Due to this, staff felt vulnerable to break-downs. Moreover, these break-downs would leave the building exposed to the weather and security issues.
Heavy Duty Rubber Doors
Lafarge Pipe reached out Northern Dock Systems to find a solution to replace this old rolling steel doors. After doing a site check, we determined that the Hormann Heavy Duty Direct Drive (HD-DD 3065) Rubber Doors would be the perfect solution for their safety concerns.
Reliable Rubber Doors
Firstly, these rubber doors have an extremely smooth operation and are reliable, even for these 20′ x 22′ door openings.
Low Maintenance
Next, these rubber doors are almost maintenance-free with their springless and direct drive design. Its low maintenance design is due to it having fewer moving parts that can break down. Especially when compared to a rolling steel door.
Improve Safety
In addition, we opted for photo-eye, featheredge and wireless activation devices to improve safety along with keeping the operations running smoothly and easily.
