Northern Dock Systems (NDS) recently hosted its 6th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Cherry Downs Golf Course in Pickering, Ontario.
Started in 2007, NDS has been contributing 100% of the event’s net proceeds to Canadian charities including WalMart’s Walk for Miracles, President’s Choice Children’s Charity and new this year, The Canadian Whale Institute (CWI). Since this past April, NDS has also donated a portion of the revenues from each Whalenado HVLS fan sold to CWI to help in the continuing efforts to save the Canadian Right Whales.
In collaboration with their suppliers and Cherry Downs, NDS is able to showcase some of the Industry’s top brands onsite as well as conduct training and education sessions. From an area near the clubhouse, NDS highlighted dock equipment (Nordock from Bowmanville), HVLS (high volume low speed) fans (Whalenado from Ontario), knock out sectional overhead doors (DL Mfg. from Syracuse), and pharma/ hi-speed /freezer doors (ASI from Milwaukee).
“We use this annual opportunity to educate customers and suppliers alike” states Kirby Moore, President of NDS. Kirby continues “Our focus at this event is to educate our current and potential customers about cost saving ideas and products in order to help them reduce costs particularly from energy savings.”
In addition to a free day of product training, NDS also covers all costs for visitor swag bags, lunch, 18 holes of golf, refreshments, dinner and draw prizes to the attendees. Chris Brady, VP of Sales and Marketing states “Today is about rewarding our relationships with customers and suppliers by ensuring they are well educated throughout the day on our service and product lineup. This is a great way to show our appreciation.”
The company looks forward to continued growth and the opportunity to return value to its customers and suppliers in recognition and acknowledgement of their ongoing support, while at the same time financially support charitable organizations.
