Project Overview
All the dock bumpers at Pepsi in Calgary Alberta were different types, sizes and projections. Also, some of the dock bumpers were very small, old and worn down. Consequently, they were causing extra and unnecessary wear and tear on the dock seals. Furthermore, their previous dock bumpers were allowing a lot of white light to enter this food facility, which could lead to a pest issue in the future.
Northern Dock Systems installed 7 new sets of steel face dock bumpers to this facility to better protect it. Dock bumpers are the single most important piece of equipment for any loading dock area, it’s the first line of defence in protecting your building from damage while the trailer backs into the loading dock.
The new bumpers are the correct projection to prevent the dock seals from becoming overcompressed and will extend the life span of the dock seals. Furthermore, the floating steel faceplate on these dock bumpers can handle the frequent impact from trucks without getting damage to extend the life expectancy of the bumper.
In addition, the new extra-large 20’x20′ bumpers reduce and eliminate the amount of white light entering the facility to help protect it against any future pest infiltrations.
