A Customer Success Story from Northern Dock Systems

Old Rusted Hydraulic Dock Leveler BeforeHydraulic Dock Leveler 30K After

Project Overview

The current loading docks Planet Paper Box had were old and under capacity. As a result, when they were moving heavy paper loads over the docks, they would fail. Consequently, two of their docks were unsafe to use and were locked out.

Northern Dock Systems, removed the current loading docks and increased the capacity of one to 60,000 while the other was replaced with a 30,000 capacity hydraulic dock leveler. As a result, these new docks are safer and much more functional than the old docks. Above all, they will be able to handle the heavy paper loads leaving this paper manufacturing plant for years to come.

These dock levelers are tested to withstand impact and handle the heaviest loads, with a 33% deck-to-beam weld ratio and up to 15-20% heavier than traditional dock levelers. In addition, the exclusive self-cleaning lip lug and header plates eliminate pinch points by allowing debris to pass straight through the dock leveler. Pinch points are often the cause of serious structural damage to traditional dock levelers, often leading to frequent maintenance and high repair costs.

Additionally, the inverted cylinder on the lifting mechanism prevents dust and dirt build-up. Due to this, these dock levelers require less maintenance and are more dependable than other competing models.
