Argo Lumber Inc. located in Maple Ontario faced a challenge in unloading their occasional rail deliveries between their warehouse and the rail car. To find a solution, they contacted Northern Dock Systems.
Heavy-Duty Steel Rail Dock Board
We provided them with a Rail Dock Board, which has a fixed span that ensures quick and safe access between the dock and rail car. This board is designed to bridge the gap between docks and railroad cars for more efficient loading and unloading at the dock.
Our steel dock board can be easily positioned and removed by a forklift with its heavy-duty forklift handles. Additionally, the rail dock board has the following specifications:
- 30,000 lb capacity
- 139″ inside and 144″ outside width
- 20″ length
Safe and Efficient Rail Car Unloading
Dock boards are designed to handle low-to-medium forklift traffic. They incorporate curbs, which are bolted to the aluminum anti-slip diamond pattern plate for increased strength while preventing runoff. As a result, they provide:
- A safe and smooth transition into the rail car.
- Prevent potential forklift runoff
- Stop tripping hazards caused by uneven ground for personnel.
