Project Overview
Quick Response Times
Arogpur in Etobicoke reached out to our 24/7 emergency service team in the morning when they were having something problems with one of their restraints and docks. In position 32 the trailer restraint would not release, while dock 33 was down.
So our dispatch team scheduled a service technician to arrive at their location around lunch to repair their restraint and dock.
Root Cause Discovery
When the technician arrived on site, checked in with the site contact to get a full picture of the issues this multiple dock food facility was having.
First-Time Fix
After inspecting the restraint at position 32, our service technician, Justin, was able to unjam the restraint. Then he removed the butterfly housing for the hook and lubricated it to prevent it from jamming in the future.
After Justin then moved to position 33 to inspect the dock. He discovered that the debris in the dock pit was causing the lip to not sit in the keepers. Therefore, he cleaned up all the debris from the pit.
Going Above and Beyond
In addition to inspecting the dock at position 33, he also looked at the restraint even though it was not on the original scope. Through root cause discovery, he found out that the clips on the restraint were causing it to occasionally jam.
He then removed the clips and tested the operations multiples times for all the equipment before leaving the site.
