A Hard-to-Close Rolling Steel Door
A retail store in Etobicoke was experiencing difficulties with a rolling steel door that was hard to close. They contacted Northern Dock Systems to inspect the door and make it easier for their staff to use. Since they called in the late afternoon and it was not an emergency, our service team scheduled a technician to visit the store the following day, shortly after it opened.
Our service team prioritizes calls based on safety and security. If it is an emergency, we aim to have a technician on-site within four hours of the call. For non-emergency situations, our coordinators will schedule a technician to arrive within 24 hours.
Root Cause Discovery
After the technician arrived and waited for a truck to unload products into the store, he began inspecting the door to identify the issue. He found that the right side of the door wouldn’t close completely and was difficult to operate because the track had been bent due to an impact.
First-Time Fix
The technician promptly worked on straightening the guide and applied a lube kit to ensure the door operated smoothly. Within 24 hours of the initial call from the retail store, the staff could easily close the door. Additionally, the door now fully closes, securing the store from pests that could have entered previously.
