30-Year-Old Rolling Steel Door
The aging rolling steel door at a hospital in Toronto had served its time for 30 years, but it had become rusted and developed holes, rendering it inoperable. As a result, the hospital sought the expertise of Northern Dock Systems to replace it with a state-of-the-art Rolling Steel Service Door.
Replacing with a New In-Jamb Rolling Steel Service Door
The installation of the new in-jamb rolling steel door was executed seamlessly, and the door now operates flawlessly, providing a much-needed upgrade to the hospital’s infrastructure.
The features of the new in-jamb rolling steel service door include:
- 16’0” (W) x 9’1.5” (H) top of hood.
- Galvanized finish on slats and hood.
- 3” curved 22 galvanized slats.
- Double-angle bottom bar with a black finish.
- Structural angle guides and aluminum bottom bar are more durable and easier to repair than roll-formed shapes.
- Black finish guides and head plates for a clean look.
- 1 HP motor with chain hoist that was wall mounted on the right hand with easy push button operation.
- NEMA 4x retro-reflective photo-eyes to prevent the door from closing on anyone or anything.
- Motor and tension covers to prevent dust and debris from getting into the mechanism and for safety.
