A Customer Success Story from Northern Dock Systems

Sandalwood brampton transit rubber door inside

Project Overview

Northern Dock Systems (NDS) Equipment Construction and Design department was awarded the Rapid-Roll Up Door Replacement project at Sandalwood Transit Facility. NDS provided a turnkey solution for the removal and disposal of the existing fabric doors. Along with the installation of the new Heavy Duty Direct Drive (HD-DD 3065) Roll-Up Rubber Doors.

In addition, to removing the old doors our Installation and Electrical teams needed to remove the existing air curtains to gain access to the doors. After the old doors were removed and the new rubber doors were installed, our technicians reinstalled the existing air curtains.

These direct drive rubber doors are designed to handle high cycles and high speeds. So they are perfect for this busy transit facility.

Additionally, the springless system with a direct drive operator has fewer moving parts. As a result, these roll-up doors required less maintenance. In addition, the variable frequency inverter drive has a soft-start and soft-stop to increase safety while reducing mechanical wear and breakdown.

Finally, these heavy-duty rubber doors are strong enough to withstand impacts from trucks and buses. Furthermore, the aluminum pivoting bottom bar can easily be reset after an impact to get this transit facility up and running in minutes.
