T&T Supermarket’s Scarborough facility faced issues with significant air exchange. Cooled, freezer air mixed with warmer air outside their freezer, resulting in frost build-up on floors and walls, reducing their operational efficiency.
The Solution and Results
After conducting an initial facility audit, Northern Dock Systems supplied one Durashield HD Enershield Air Barrier, installing it vertically on one side of the door opening, which:- Prevented air exchange between the two different environments, completely eliminating frost build-up and increasing safety.
- Allowed employees to keep their freezer door open to accommodate for high traffic.
- Maintained a clear line of sight through the doorway, enhancing worker productivity.
- Complied with HACCP storage laws with respect to temperature and humidity control for food.
