Transcontinental Printing

A Customer Success Story from Northern Dock Systems

Old trailer restraintNew trailer restraint

Project Overview

The existing restraints at the Transcontinental Printing facility in Calgary were old and worn, making it an unsafe workspace for employees. In addition, the communication lights were difficult to read.

They contacted Northern Dock Systems to add new restraints that were easy to use by all employees. The new AR-20K rotating hook trailer restraints made it a safe environment for all employees to work in because:

  • The auto re-engagement system ensures constant contact with the trailer rear impact guard to prevent trailer creep.
  • While the larger impact zone makes it easier for the ICC bar to slide up into the restraint to prevent the ICC from digging in and getting caught in the restraint.
  • Similarly, the patented NO-PINCH™ Auxiliary Lock System will not pinch the rear impact guard, providing the highest level of safety in the vehicle restraint industry.
  • In addition, the 24-hour battery backup allows for the safe operation of restraints even during a power outage. Employees will NOT have to go under the truck to manually release and lower the mechanism in the event of a power outage.

Furthermore, the drivers can now easily read the high-visibility LED lights to know if the truck can safely be pulled away. In conclusion, employees and drivers now feel safe with new and easy to operate trailer restraints.
