Project Overview

The existing rubber door at this manufacturing plant was about 12 years old and the motor was starting to fail and needed to be replaced. In addition over the 12 years, the curtain on the old door had been impacted so many times the rubber was starting to wear. 

Northern Dock Systems supplied and installed a new direct drive (HD-DD 3065) springless high-speed rubber door complete with a new chain drive operator and panel. This high-speed, high-performance door system is particularly well suited for high-traffic areas where high door speeds are required.

In addition, eliminating counterbalance springs makes these rubber doors extremely reliable and low maintenance in very high-cycle environments. While the NEWGEN Guide and Curtain Lok System with pivoting bottom bar is strong enough to withstand vehicle impacts. As a result, the door can easily be reset this manufacturing plant back up and running in minutes. 

Furthermore, this drive system is controlled by a programmable PLC and VFD with soft start and soft stop. This soft start and soft stop provides smooth, quiet operation, reduced wear-and-tear and long life. As a result, this operator boasts an unmatched warranty of 1,000,000 cycles or five years. 

The customer is happy with the new rubber and is looking forward to another 12 years of low maintenance with easy resets after an impact.
